I have added the directions for the right shoe and fixed some errors. 8/16/07
Supplies:
size 10 cotton thread
size 7 hook, or a larger hook to make it larger.

4 dc rows per inch
dcdec = (yo, insert hook in next st and pull up a loop, pull through 2 loops on hook) 2x, yo and pull through all 3 loops on hook
beg dc dec = ch 2, dc in next st
3 dc cluster = (yo, insert hook in next st and pull up a loop, pull through 2 loops on hook) 3x, yo and pull through all 4 loops on hook

rnd 5: working in back loops only, work starting dc dec, dc in next 2 st, (dc dec, dc in next 2 st)6x, dc dec, dc in next 12 st, work 15 dc dec over next 30 st, dc in next 12 st, join with sl st to both loops of 1st dc. 61 st total.

Strap: turn, sl st in hdc and next sc, ch 18, tr in back loop of 5th ch from hook and in next 13 ch, join with sl st to 2nd dc in last rnd. tie off.
For right shoe: Work the same as left through 1st row, then turn to work rest of rows.

Strap: sl st in next sc, ch 18, tr in back loop of 5th ch from hook and in next 13 ch, turn, skip 2 st, join with sl st to next dc. Tie off.
You can sl st around the top of the shoe and strap and around where the sole meets the top of the shoe using the front loop of rnd 4. I recommend doing this at least around the top since it keeps the shoe from stretching out.
Preemie mary janes
Here is a pattern for preemie mary janes. It starts the same as above, but only has 3 rounds to the sole. Using a size 3 steel hook, it comes out just a bit smaller than the other mary janes worked with a size 7 steel hook.

Hey Liz! Saw you on the 'ville thread about wedding dresses. I don't do much thread crochet, but the pattern looks adorable. Keep up the good work! My hubby and I are Youth Pastors, good luck to you guys!

They are so cute!!
Very cute shoes!! Much luck with your designing business. You are off to a good start with this pattern. RJ
Thanks for the pattern! I just stayed up 'till almost 2am and made the left bootie! I think I must have used the wrong yarn 'cause it's tiny--like preemie sized. It's cute, though. I meant for them to be for my five-month-old but I'll probably go ahead and make the right shoe and gift them to a friend who's having a little girl in the spring. In a couple of days I'll post the finished product on my daughter's blog: www.thomerica.com/ela if you want to see your pattern recreated by someone else.
my 2nd bootie didnt turn out correctly strap was on wrong side tried to correct it but ended up w/extra round..now it is taller and wider looks funny..did i do something wrong or is pattern wrong on 2nd one..first one is cute...
Thank you so very much my daughter had a little girl and normally my Mother would do this but God has taken her home. I pray I can follow this and at least do the job close to yours and what my Mom's would of been. It took me forever to find the pattern until I came upon yours. Thank you again and Gods blessings to you throughout the holidays. Donna Clark
SO cute pattern! I thought that I could make it bigger with some WW yarn and a G hook. *lol* I ended up with a giant mary jane. Its cute, but I think it'll have to be just cute rather than functional.
very cute ones. going to try it out. Thank you for the design
Ah sweet, If I knew how to read a crochet pattern properly I would love to give it a try. I'm sure my family members would appreciate the things that I make from people like you that have such creativity. :)
I love this pattern is worked up very quickly! The booties are a bit smaller than others I've made.. what age range would you say they're good for?
Thanks so much for the pattern! I love it.. :D

A slim, wide-eyed mygamegoldwoman almost human in virbanksfeatures eyed agamegold the pair. Her nose was sharp, but very elegant.
